This hiking route takes you to the picturesque area of Hoher Hengst. The trail is 8.772 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 696.0 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 46 minutes to complete.

As you start your journey, you will come across a parking area, perfect for leaving your vehicle before embarking on the trail. Just 0.37 kilometers in, you'll find a bench where you can take a quick rest. Further along at 0.66 kilometers, there is another bench for you to enjoy the surrounding nature.

About 1.96 kilometers into the hike, you'll encounter an information point where you can learn more about the area. As you continue on, at 3.43 kilometers, you'll find another information point and a wayside cross at 3.45 kilometers.

Midway through the hike, at 4.39 kilometers, you'll reach the peak of Hoher Hengst, offering stunning panoramic views of the surroundings. Make sure to take a break at the picnic site located at 3.44 kilometers and another bench at 0.52 kilometers.

At 1.4 kilometers, there is a spring with drinking water, allowing you to refill your bottles before continuing the ascent. Towards the end, at 3.9 kilometers, you'll find a cave entrance, although it is not directly on the trail.
