This hiking route takes you through a beautiful area with stunning natural scenery and historic landmarks. The trail is 7.279 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 779 meters, making it a difficult hike that will challenge even experienced hikers.
As you start your journey, you will come across several points of interest along the way. At the beginning of the trail, there is a parking area for you to leave your vehicle. Further along, you will encounter a fountain that provides a refreshing spot to take a break and hydrate.
Early on in the hike, you will also pass by the Santuario Madonna della Grotta, a historic monastery that adds a touch of cultural significance to your outdoor adventure. As you continue, you will have the opportunity to explore the Grotta Preistorica, a prehistoric cave entrance that offers a glimpse into the region's ancient past.
Midway through the hike, you will come across other cave entrances such as Grotta di San Vittorino, Madonna della Grotta, and la Grotticella, each offering their own unique charm and history for you to explore. Towards the end of the trail, you will reach Colle Pidocchio, a natural peak that provides a stunning viewpoint for you to take in the surrounding landscapes.
