This hiking route takes you through the scenic area around Hahnkopf, offering stunning views and challenging terrain. The trail is a circular route with a total distance of 10.455 kilometers and an elevation gain of 802 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 4 hours and 25 minutes to complete.
As you start your hike, you will find a parking area nearby. Make sure to park legally, especially as there are absolute no parking zones in winter. About 1.3 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a historic wayside cross known as "Kreuz", adding a touch of cultural significance to your journey.
Around the halfway mark, at approximately 5.17 kilometers into the hike, you will reach the peak of Hahnkopf, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. There are also benches at this point where you can take a rest and soak in the beauty of the area.
Along the trail, you will also find information points and benches for additional comfort and convenience. Additionally, there are fountains for refilling your water bottles, with one fountain located 0.25 kilometers from the start of the trail.
