This extremely difficult 13.377 km out-and-back hiking route will take you to the beautiful Kälbersee destination. The trail begins at a parking area at the trailhead. As you start your journey, you will pass by the historic wayside cross located just 0.05 km from the start.
Midway through the hike, at around 6.25 km, you will reach Schwarzsee, a picturesque water body perfect for a short break and some breathtaking views of the surroundings. Continuing on, at 4.56 km into the hike, you'll find the Alpe Innerkapell restaurant which is open from early June to mid-September depending on the weather. It's a great spot to refuel and recharge before continuing your journey.
As you approach the final stretch of the hike, approximately 6.69 km from the start, you will reach the tranquil Kälbersee lake, the highlight and endpoint of the trail. Take in the scenic beauty of the lake before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter benches and restaurants along the way where you can rest, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Make sure to bring plenty of water, as the duration of this challenging hike is around 6 hours and 8 minutes.
