This extremely difficult 12.245-kilometer circular hiking route will take you through the stunning Sonnwendjoch area. The trail starts at the Bayreuterhütte parking area and offers a challenging elevation gain of 1275 meters.

Along the way, you will encounter several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by the Herrgottstein wayside shrine and an information point. As you continue, you will reach the Pletzachkogel peak, offering breathtaking panoramic views.

Midway through the route, you will come across the Sonnwendjochhaus alpine hut, where you can take a break and enjoy some refreshments. Further along the trail, you will find a bench for resting and taking in the surrounding scenery.

Towards the end of the hike, you will encounter a bench with a view and a wayside shrine before completing the circular route back to the starting point. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging adventure.
