This hiking route takes you to the beautiful area of Mont de Salsa / Monte Salza, offering stunning views and a challenging trek. The route is an out-and-back type, with a total distance of 18.498 kilometers and an elevation gain of 1455 meters, making it extremely difficult and suitable for experienced hikers.
As you start your journey at the parking area, be sure to check the weather forecast and pack plenty of water and snacks for the long hike ahead. Along the trail, you will come across various points of interest such as Laghi Bes, Lago Bleu, Lago Longet, Caserma/osservatorio Vallo Alpino, and Mont de Salsa / Monte Salza. These natural and historic sites offer a refreshing break and a chance to learn more about the area.
At the beginning of the trail, you will find informative signs to guide you along the path, providing valuable insights into the surroundings. As you progress, you will encounter viewpoints that offer panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscapes, rewarding you for your effort.
Midway through the hike, you may stumble upon Colle del Longet and Col de Longet, picturesque saddles that offer a peaceful spot to rest and take in the beauty of the mountains. Additionally, make sure to visit the historic ruins of Malloppo centro 9 (mitragliatrici) and the boundary stone I/F #53, adding a touch of heritage to your adventure.
As you reach the endpoint at Mont de Salsa / Monte Salza, bask in the sense of accomplishment and soak in the stunning views before retracing your steps back to the starting point.
