This hiking route to Kemacher is an extremely difficult 12.676-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1591 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure for experienced hikers. The trail starts at a parking area where you can leave your vehicle before embarking on this demanding trek.
As you begin your journey, you will come across the Gasthaus Gramart, a restaurant located right at the start of the trail, where you can grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink before setting off. Further along the trail, at the 2.65-kilometer mark, you will find the Höttinger Alm, a mountain hut that offers a cozy spot to rest and refuel.
Throughout the hike, you will encounter several points of interest, such as the Langer Sattel, a natural saddle at the 5.47-kilometer mark, and the Kemacher peak at 6.34 kilometers into the trail. There are also historical sites like ruins, wayside crosses, and wayside shrines to explore along the way.
