This hiking route follows the Miners' Track in a beautiful area with stunning natural landscapes and historic sites. The trail is 4.779 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 67 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
Starting at Pen y Pass parking lot, where there is a fee for parking, hikers will pass by Llyn Teyrn, a picturesque lake, about 1.5 kilometers from the start. Further along the trail, at about 2.39 kilometers from the start, hikers will come across Llyn Llydaw, another lovely lake to admire.
Midway through the hike, at 2.12 kilometers from the start, you will encounter some historic ruins worth exploring. Along the way, there are also several water features such as streams and small water bodies adding to the natural beauty of the trail.
For a quick break or snack, Mallory's cafe is conveniently located at the beginning of the trail. Additionally, there is another cafe along the way for hikers to refresh themselves.
A viewpoint with a stunning vista is located at 1.88 kilometers from the start, offering a perfect spot to take in the surrounding landscapes.
As with any hiking trip, hikers are advised to bring enough water, wear appropriate footwear, and check the weather forecast before setting out. This out-and-back route provides a delightful hiking experience with plenty of natural and historical landmarks to enjoy along the way.
