Located near Pen y Pass, the Miners' Track offers a picturesque hiking experience with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. This out-and-back route spans approximately 4.8 kilometers with an elevation gain of 67 meters, making it an easy hike suitable for all skill levels.
As you begin your journey, you'll come across the parking area at Pen y Pass, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. From there, you'll pass by Llyn Teyrn, a beautiful lake located 1.5 kilometers from the start of the trail. Make sure to take in the serene surroundings and maybe snap a few photos before continuing on.
As you make your way along the trail, you'll encounter several water sources scattered throughout the hike, providing a refreshing break and a chance to refill your water bottle. These natural water spots are perfect for a quick rest before heading towards the midpoint of the route.
Around the 2.12-kilometer mark, you'll come across historic ruins, adding a touch of intrigue to your hike. Take a moment to explore the area and imagine the stories behind these ancient structures before pressing on.
At the turnaround point of the hike, approximately 2.4 kilometers from the start, you'll find another water source, offering a final chance to hydrate before heading back. As you retrace your steps, be sure to stop at Mallory's cafe, located just 0.01 kilometers from the trail, for a well-deserved snack and a moment of relaxation.
