This hiking route takes you through the stunning landscapes of the National Park of Samaria, located in Greece. The trail is 8.628 kilometers long with an elevation gain of 347 meters, making it a challenging but rewarding hike.
As you start your journey, you will come across the Xyloskalo Restaurant and the National Park of Samaria information center, offering a great place to fuel up and gather information before your adventure. Further along the trail, approximately 0.04 kilometers from the start, you will reach the entrance to the impressive Samaria Gorge.
About 3.44 kilometers into the hike, you will find the Kallergi Shelter, a cozy alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surrounding nature. Continuing on, you will pass by several viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the surroundings.
One of the highlights of the hike is reaching the peak of Kοukoulé at 4.31 kilometers from the start, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the area. Along the way, you will also come across various peaks and landmarks, adding to the beauty of the trail.
