This challenging hiking route takes you through the breathtaking natural beauty of the Sillian region. With a distance of approximately 5.97 kilometers and an elevation gain of 501 meters, this hike is not for the faint of heart. The estimated duration for this hike is 2 hours and 38 minutes.
The trail begins at the Leckfeldalm restaurant, where you can grab a bite to eat before starting your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you'll come across the Füllhornsee, a picturesque alpine lake located 2.34 kilometers from the start. Take a moment to admire the crystal-clear waters and surrounding mountain scenery.
About midway through the hike, you'll reach the Sillianer Hütte Alpine Hut, a perfect spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your adventure. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of the Leckfeldsattel mountain pass, located 2.6 kilometers from the start.
Along the trail, you'll also pass by various points of interest such as benches, information points, and drinking water sources to keep you comfortable and hydrated throughout your hike. The Heini Klammer memorial, located 0.4 kilometers from the start, offers a moment of reflection on the region's history.
As this is an out-and-back route, you'll retrace your steps back to the starting point, with plenty of opportunities to capture new perspectives of the scenery on your way back.
