Welcome to the hiking route to Montgelas!

The trail to Montgelas is a 5.9 km out-and-back route with an elevation gain of 473 meters, making it a moderate difficulty hike. You can expect this hike to take around 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete.

Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across a parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before heading out on the journey. As you continue along the trail, about midway through, you will reach a lovely picnic site, perfect for a rest and perhaps a snack while enjoying the natural surroundings.

One of the highlights of this hike is reaching the peak of Montgelas, located approximately 2.96 km from the starting point. Once you reach the summit, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding area. Don't forget to take some time to soak in the scenery from the viewpoint located 1.31 km into the hike.

On your way back from the peak, at around the 2.57 km mark, you'll encounter another viewpoint where you can pause to appreciate the beauty of the landscape once more before continuing on your descent.
