The Bettlersteig hiking route is located in a stunning area surrounded by natural beauty. This challenging route covers a distance of 12.877 kilometers with an elevation gain of 958 meters, making it extremely difficult but rewarding for experienced hikers.

As you begin your journey, you will pass by the Schönangeralm parking area, where you can leave your vehicle before starting the hike. Just a short distance away, you'll find the Schönangeralm restaurant, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat before hitting the trail.

Along the route, at around 3.54 kilometers from the start, you will come across a beautiful viewpoint known as the Wasserfall, offering a picturesque stop to catch your breath and take in the scenic surroundings. Further along, at 4.75 kilometers into the hike, you can refuel at the Jst Gressensteinalm restaurant.

Around the midway point, at 5.75 kilometers, there is a water source off the trail, providing a convenient spot to refill your water bottles. As you continue, you'll encounter several more water sources at 6.44 kilometers into the hike, offering plenty of opportunities to stay hydrated.

At 1.78 kilometers into the hike, you'll find a refreshing spring known as Glockhausstein, perfect for a quick rest and water break. Additionally, informative spots like Der Teufel von Gressenstein and other points of interest are scattered along the trail, adding to the overall experience.
