This hiking route takes you through the stunning area around Ciemniak / Temniak. The trail covers a distance of 12.73 kilometers with an elevation gain of 972 meters, making it an extremely difficult hike that will challenge even the most experienced hikers. It is estimated to take around 5 hours and 22 minutes to complete the round trip.
Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across the Schronisko PTTK na Hali Ornak alpine hut, located just 0.01 kilometers from the start. This is a great spot to rest and refuel before continuing on your journey. As you make your way along the trail, you will pass by Chuda Przełączka, a saddle located 5.4 kilometers from the start. Further along, at the 6.37 kilometer mark, you will reach the peak of Ciemniak / Temniak, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Other points of interest along the route include Szerokie Siodło saddle, Mułowa Przełęcz saddle, Twarda Kopa peak, Kazalnica peak, Wysoki Grzbiet peak, and the caves of Lodowa w Ciemniaku and Jaskinia Zawaliskowa w Szerokiem. You will also come across boundary stones marking the border between Slovakia and Poland at various points along the trail.
