This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you to the peak of Kresanica / Krzesanica, offering stunning views along the way. The total distance of the hike is 13.638 kilometers with an elevation gain of 972.0 meters, so be prepared for a challenging trek.
The trail starts at the parking area near Schronisko PTTK na Hali Ornak. This alpine hut is a great starting point for the hike, offering facilities and information for hikers. As you make your way up the trail, you will pass by Chuda Przełączka and Szerokie Siodło, both natural saddles that provide a moment of respite along the climb.
Midway through the route, around the 6.37 kilometer mark, you will reach the peak of Ciemniak / Temniak, where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding area. Continuing on, you will encounter Mułowa Przełęcz and Twarda Kopa before reaching the highlight of the hike, Kresanica / Krzesanica.
Throughout the hike, you will also pass by various points of interest such as caves, picnic sites, and boundary stones marking the historic SK/PL border. Remember to bring plenty of water, snacks, and proper hiking gear as this route is quite strenuous.
