This challenging hiking route, known as Chemin de Vallat, takes you on a 11.6-kilometer circular journey through the beautiful landscape of the area. The trail offers an elevation gain of 388 meters, promising stunning views and a good workout for hikers. It is estimated to take approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete.
As you begin your hike, you will pass by a parking area, conveniently located at the trailhead. About 4.6 kilometers into the hike, you will come across a water source, followed by a picturesque waterfall named La Cance just 0.18 kilometers from the trail. This makes for a great spot to rest and admire the natural beauty of the area.
Further along the trail, at a distance of 5.4 kilometers from the start, you will encounter another water feature. Additionally, you will find the historic Château de Vocance situated 0.33 kilometers from the trail, adding a touch of heritage to your outdoor adventure.
For sustenance, there is a bar called Les Copains d'Abord located right on the trail, providing a perfect place to grab a refreshment or a quick bite to eat. As you continue your journey, you will also come across several historic wayside crosses, adding cultural significance to your hike.
Before reaching the endpoint, a fountain called Fontaine Lavoir de Préaux can be found 4.2 kilometers from the start, offering a refreshing stop for weary hikers. Finally, as you near the end of the trail, at around 0.44 kilometers from the start, you will pass by another historic wayside cross.
