Hiking : Monte Burlat

This hiking route to Monte Burlat is an extremely difficult 19.985-kilometer out-and-back trail with an elevation gain of 1556 meters. The total duration for this hike is approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes.

Starting at the parking area close to the trailhead, hikers will embark on a challenging journey that leads them through breathtaking natural landscapes. Along the way, they will encounter several points of interest.

Near the beginning of the trail, hikers will come across "Il Fontanone," a spring located just 0.14 kilometers from the starting point. This is a great spot to take a break and refill your water bottles before continuing on the steep ascent towards Monte Teglara.

About midway through the hike, at a distance of 6.08 kilometers from the start, hikers will find the "Ricovero Casera Teglara," a wilderness hut where they can rest and enjoy some shelter. This is a perfect place to refuel before tackling the remaining portion of the trail.

As hikers make their way towards the summit of Monte Burlat, they will encounter informative signposts offering insights into the flora, fauna, and history of the area. These information points are strategically placed along the trail at 2.53, 6.08, and 9.99 kilometers from the start, providing interesting tidbits about the surroundings.

Reaching the peak of Monte Burlat at 9.99 kilometers from the start, hikers will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. After soaking in the beauty of the summit, hikers can retrace their steps back to the trailhead, passing by the points of interest once again on the way back.
