This extremely difficult 12.616-kilometer out-and-back hiking route will take you through breathtaking landscapes in the area. The trail starts at Ski Ankogel parking lot and winds its way through challenging terrain with a total elevation gain of 1269 meters.

At the beginning of the hike, you will pass by Gasthof Alpenrose, Schi-Circus, and other restaurants to grab some sustenance. As you continue on, you will reach Alpengasthof Hochalmblick and other dining options around the 3.5-kilometer mark, where you can take a break and refuel.

Around the midway point of the trail, at approximately 6.3 kilometers, you will come across Hannoverhaus, a restaurant and alpine hut where you can rest and enjoy the stunning views. Make sure to check out the picnic site and information points scattered along the trail for some added insights into the area.

On the way back, take a moment to appreciate the historic wayside crosses and artworks along the trail before reaching the starting point at Ski Ankogel parking lot.
