This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area of Schimmelsteig in Heidelberg. The trail is relatively short, with a distance of 1.543 kilometers and an elevation gain of 37 meters, making it super easy and suitable for hikers of all levels.
Starting at the Wanderparkplatz Pferchel, you will begin your journey through the lush landscape. Along the way, you will come across some interesting points of interest. At the beginning of the trail, you will find the Pferchelgrillhütte, a picturesque picnic site where you can take a break and enjoy some snacks while surrounded by nature.
As you continue on, you will pass by the Moselbrunnen spring and the Hirtenbrunnen spring, providing you with fresh water if needed. There are also benches scattered along the trail where you can rest and take in the serene surroundings.
Midway through the hike, you will come across the Walderlebnisgelände Pferchel, an information point where you can learn more about the local flora and fauna. Nearby, you will also find the Waldspielplatz, a nature playground for children to enjoy.
Towards the end of the trail, you will reach some viewpoints where you can admire the stunning scenery of the area. The trail ends at the Schimmelsteig, completing your out-and-back journey.
