This extremely difficult out-and-back hiking route will take you through the rugged terrain of Fontana dei Picchi - Sentiero alla Salancia. The 25.855 km trail features an elevation gain of 1809.0 meters and is estimated to take about 10 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
Starting off at the Foresteria della Certosa, an alpine hut located 0.75 km from the trailhead, you'll make your way through various points of interest along the trail. About 7.18 km into the hike, you'll come across a wayside cross, a historic site that adds to the charm of the route. Further along, at 4.32 km in, you'll reach Colletto dell'Orso, a natural saddle that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
