This hiking route will take you through the picturesque area of Eggenalm, offering stunning views and a challenging hike. The total distance of the route is 11.078 kilometers with an elevation gain of 280 meters, making it a difficult hike that will take approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes to complete.

Starting at the trailhead, you will first come across Parkplatz Steinplatte, a parking area located right at the beginning of the trail. As you continue on, approximately 1.86 kilometers into the hike, you'll reach Durchkaseralm, a quaint restaurant where you can take a break and refuel.

Further along the trail, at around 5.43 kilometers, you'll find Schuhmacher Kreuz, a historic memorial with a website for more information about its significance. Not too far away, at 5.54 kilometers, is a viewpoint and bench where you can rest and enjoy the scenic views.

Although there are several peaks in the area, such as Windbühel, Lahnerkogel, and Eggenalmkogel, they are located off the main trail at various distances. Along the trail, you'll also come across informational signs and benches for your convenience.

It is important to note that this route is an out-and-back type, so you will retrace your steps on the way back. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast before embarking on this challenging but rewarding hike in Eggenalm.
