Located in the beautiful area of Japetić, this hiking route offers a moderate challenge with a distance of 3.3 kilometers and an elevation gain of 267 meters. The estimated duration for this hike is approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes.
As you set off on the trail, you will come across several points of interest. At the beginning of the hike, you will find a parking area, which is 1.44 kilometers from the starting point. Further along the trail, at 1.65 kilometers, you will reach the Japetić takeoff site, ideal for free-flying enthusiasts. At 1.57 kilometers, there is the Planinarski dom Žitnica alpine hut where you can take a break and enjoy the surroundings.
Midway through the hike, at 1.07 kilometers, you will encounter Velika Vrata, a saddle point offering stunning views of the area. Continuing on, at 1.25 kilometers, you will find a wayside shrine and at 1.54 kilometers, you will reach Put piramide 1. Towards the end of the trail, at 1.57 kilometers, you will find various information points to learn more about the area.
Before embarking on this journey, make sure to bring plenty of water, wear comfortable hiking shoes, and check the weather forecast. This out-and-back route will not only challenge you physically but also reward you with breathtaking views of Japetić.
