This hiking route takes you through the beautiful area near Vers Ascou. You will start your journey at the parking area, where you can safely leave your vehicle before hitting the trail. The trail begins by leading you towards Sarrat de l'Étang peak, which is about 1 km away. As you hike towards the peak, you will pass by the Monument aux morts memorial, which is a significant historic site in the area.

After reaching the peak, you can take a rest at the Orri du Sarrat shelter, located about 1 km from the peak. From here, you can enjoy the stunning views of Vallée d'Ax and Vers Ascou viewpoints, both of which are about 1 km away from the shelter. Make sure to refill your water bottle at La fount de l'église, a drinking water source located nearby.

This out-and-back route covers a distance of 3.48 km with an elevation gain of 136 meters. The duration of the hike is approximately 55 minutes. The trail is of moderate difficulty due to its length and elevation gain, so make sure to come prepared with proper hiking gear, plenty of water, and snacks.
